Engine Management Systems Explained

Someone offers you a "tune" for a flat fee, or a workshop quotes you for the sensor a fault code mentioned by name. In both cases you are being asked to approve something you have no way to judge. This guide gives you the mechanism behind both decisions: what the engine computer actually measures, what it can and cannot command, what a fault code really names, and what a calibration really changes.
